    What is a virtual assistant (VA)?

    If you have found yourself getting burned out and frustrated with doing everything yourself in your business, hiring a virtual assistant could be the solution to freeing up your time to do more important things - and what you enjoy.

    A virtual assistant works with you just like a personal assistant or secretary, but remotely. Hiring virtual assistant is a lot more cost effective and flexible than hiring an in person employee.

    What kind of jobs can I give my virtual assistant?

    You can give your VA any tasks that can be carried out remotely over an internet connection. Most entrepreneurs are looking for someone to manage day-to-day administrative tasks and customer relationship management.

    This could include answering general enquiry emails, calendar management and meeting scheduling, research, bookkeeping, social medial management. You can also look for an assistant with specific specialised skills.

    What hours will my virtual assistant work?

    The agreement about working hours and overtime is agreed directly with your VA. As long as you are specific about what you need, we will help match you to a virtual assistant that is able to work the hours you require.

     

    You may choose to offer your VA days off based on her local public holidays, or align with your local public holidays, as long as you are clear about the operational requirements of your business.

    Can my VA manage my inbound and outbound calls?

    If you require a VA who is able to make outbound calls on your behalf, be sure to let us know during the survey application so that we can ensure that she has a suitable set up and environment that allows this.

    For inbound calls, you will need to be set up to allow for calls to be routed to your Virtual Assistant. It is possible but not a common request for most of our customers. We can advise on a case-by-case basis.

    Who manages my virtual assistant?

    If you are happy with the interview and the trial period, you will work directly with your virtual assistant. We will provide an onboarding pack with best practice tips for hiring, training and managing your VA.

    We also have options for onboarding support to set you up with the right tools and systems to effectively work remotely with your VA if you need it. Choose from basic or professional onboarding.

    How much does a virtual assistant cost?

    Connected Women virtual assistants are looking for full-time or part-time work and we recommend you work to fixed schedule to make it easier to work together efficiently and collaborate closely.

     

    A full time general virtual assistant will cost around $600 SGD to $900 SGD per month depending on their level of experience and any specialisation you require. We will advise you on fair and suitable rates for each VA applicant.

    How do I pay my virtual assistant?

    Depending on where you are in the world there may be different methods of payment available, however typically PayPal is the simplest and safest way to pay your VA.

     

    We can advise on options for recommended modes of payment for paying your VA. The final agreement on payment methods and terms is agreed directly between you and your VA.

    How will you help find me a virtual assistant?

    After completing a survey application and signup we will match you to a suitable assistant from our database of qualified, pre-screened applicants. Applicants are shortlisted down to one recommended candidate.

    Our meaningful matching algorithm is based on more than just skills and and experience, we profile applicants based on personality, task preference, values, ambition and drive. We also take into account any training needs.

    What is Connected Women's fee for finding me a VA?

    We charge $150 SGD for the search (shortlisting an ideal candidate to interview) and $150 SGD for a successful match on completion of the two week trial. You will need to pay the VA for the work carried out during the trial.

     

    We charge $300 upfront and if we aren't successful in finding you a match after 3 attempts, we will refund the $150 success fee. So far all of our matches have been successful, so you are in good hands!

    How long will it take to find me a VA?

    It depends on your hiring needs, but we will aim to set up an interview with your shortlisted VA within 2-5 business days of completing the sign up process (application, consultation and payment).

     

    If you require specific skills such as high level editorial, marketing, accounting and finance, design, development or specialised software, it might take a little longer.

    What tools do I need to work with a VA?

    You only need a few free online tools to work effectively with your VA. We provide a list of free tools as well as instructions for you to get set-up before you onboard your VA.

    If you need additional help with setting up and installing the tools, as well as preparing to manage and delegate tasks to your VA, we offer an onboarding service to get you started.

    I just signed up! What are the next steps?

    Once you have signed up, please complete the application survey which helps us get a better understanding of your needs. The next step is a call with one of our team to clarify any details and explain the next steps.

     

    After the call we can start matching for you right away with an aim to have a shortlisted virtual assistant for you to interview. If that goes well, your assistant will be onboarded for a two week trial period.
